*NEW* Practice and Implementation of EMAC

This course provides an overview of EMAC history, legal framework, and the EMAC Process to include the 5 Phases:  Pre-Event Preparation, Activation, Request and Offer, Response (Mobilization, Deployment, and Demobilization), and Reimbursement.

Successful Course Completion Criteria:
Learners must complete all course modules, learning checks, and pass the assessment with a minimum score of 70% to successfully complete the course, receive CEUs, and a certificate of completion.   

Prerequisites: None

Teaching Methodology and Assessment: Blended approach incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities.  

Amount of Contact Time (in hours) needed to effectively complete this course:  This course is expected to take the average learner 4 hours to complete. 

Number of CEUs to be offered:  0.4


*NEW* EMAC: Just in Time Training for Deploying Personnel

The course is intended to be taken by response and recovery personnel prior to deployment on an EMAC mission. The course provides an overview of the EMAC Process, EMAC law, EMAC operational support structure as well as actions that should be taken during the Response Phase (to include Mobilization, Deployment, Demobilization), and the Reimbursement Phase.  

Successful Course Completion Criteria:
Learners must complete all course modules, learning checks, and pass the assessment with a minimum score of 70% to successfully complete the course, receive CEUs, and a certificate of completion.   

Prerequisites: None

Teaching Methodology:  Blended approach incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities.  

Assessment: The assessment consists of 20 questions.  

Amount of Contact Time (in hours) needed to effectively complete this course:  This course is expected to take the average learner 1.5 - 2 hours to complete. 

Number of CEUs to be offered:  0.3


EMAC Reimbursement

This course describes the responsibilities and actions of Deployed Personnel, Resource Providers, Requesting States, and Assisting States. It highlights the suggested timelines to process EMAC reimbursement packages, an overview of eligible and ineligible costs, and suggestions for recouping costs from federally declared disasters.

Successful Course Completion Criteria:
Learners must complete all course modules, pass all learning checks, and pass the assessment with a minimum score of 70% to successfully complete the course, and receive CEUs, and a certificate of completion.   

Prerequisites: None

Teaching Methodology and Assessment: Blended approach incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities.  

Amount of Contact Time (in hours) needed to effectively complete this course:  This course is expected to take the average learner approximately 2 hours to complete.

EMAC Pre-Event Preparation for Resource Providers

Course Description:

EMAC Pre-Event Preparation for Resource Providers reviews steps that Resource Providers should take prior to an emergency or disaster. The course reviews the EMAC Process, EMAC's legal protections, Resource Provider training and exercise responsibilities, and describes the Mission Ready Package - what it is - as well as why and how Resource Providers should develop and maintain one.

Target Audience:
Resource Providers: Response and recovery resource providers that may deploy through EMAC.

The National Guard and EMAC

Course Description:

The National Guard, a critically requested resource across the United States in times of emergencies and disasters, deploys through EMAC in State Active Duty and Title 32.  This course provides an overview of the EMAC Process, EMAC law, National Guard responsibilities throughout the EMAC Process, as well as insight into the unique aspects between State Emergency Management Agencies, EMAC, and the National Guard. 

Target Audience: 
National Guard Commanders, Operations, Staff, Logisticians, other members of the National Guard, and State Emergency Management Agency personnel.

The EMAC A-Team Course will familiarize you with the EMAC A-Team's structure, functions, roles, and responsibilities, and provide experience in the EMAC Operations System.


Prerequisites

  • The Practice and Implementation of EMAC
  • EMAC Pre-Event Preparation for Resource Providers
  • EMAC: Just in Time Training for Deploying Personnel
  • The National Guard and EMAC
  • EMAC Reimbursement for State Personnel Management

Successful Course Completion Criteria:

  • A score of 70% or above for the knowledge checks in the course
  • A score of 80% or higher on the course assessment
  • Completion of the Navigation Exercise
  • A score of 80% or higher on the Final Exercise

Teaching Methodology:  Blended approach incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities.  

Assessment: The assessment consists of 38 questions.  

Amount of Contact Time (in hours) needed to effectively complete this course:  This course is expected to take the average learner 12-16 hours to complete.
