Overview of EMAC Training Opportunities
A variety of options is available to learn more about EMAC, including on-ground and virtual courses, live Webinars, and workshops and presentations, upon request.
On-Ground and Virtual Training Courses

- "Understanding EMAC" is geared toward personnel who need a basic yet comprehensive introduction to the EMAC system; a key target audience comprises those who expect to be deployed under EMAC. This course is available through FEMA's Emergency Management Institute (EMI) in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and an independent-study, online course on the EMAC website.

- "EMAC A-Team Training Course" is geared toward those personnel who are likely to be deployed as Advance Team (A-Team) members during an emergency event. A-Team personnel should have taken both "Understanding EMAC" and the "EMAC A-Team Training Course" before deployment. Training courses may be conducted within regions or states, as needs dictate. Candidates for the A-Team courses must be selected by their home state emergency management agencies.
Webinars
NEMA provides Webinars for audiences with common concerns but whose work locations or schedules make on-ground meetings difficult. Webinars include such topics as EMAC reimbursement, the Request for Assistance form (REQ-A), Mission Ready Packages (MRPs), and general EMAC orientations. Visit the EMAC webinar archives.
Other Opportunities
NEMA also offers training, workshops, and Webinars upon reasonable request, if staffing allows. In these instances, NEMA's own EMAC staff members may travel to the presentation venues, or NEMA may ask an emergency management official with extraordinary experience in EMAC to conduct the session.
