This one-hour Webinar introduces the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) to Public Information Officers and other public information professionals. Presenter Jack Jowett will discuss the background and history of EMAC, its governance and administrative structures, how Public Information Officers are mobilized and deployed under the Compact’s Standard Operating Procedures, responsibilities and expectations attendant to an EMAC deployment, and demobilization and reimbursement issues. Attendees are welcome to ask questions at any time via the GoToWebinar questions panel, and these questions will be addressed and discussed at the conclusion of the presentation.

Presenter Profile
Jack Jowett, EMAC Advisor, possesses more than 27 years of expertise in the emergency management field. Jack recently retired from his position as Logistics Branch Chief at the New York State Emergency Management Office and is continuing his service to emergency management as the EMAC advisor. Jack has served as chair of the EMAC Executive Task Force and has conducted a previous Webinar session for EMAC covering reimbursement of mission costs.
